MAMAK, MEE SEGERA SATU!

Well, BN Sarawak has played the same song again. Using "mee segera" methodology to capture the heart of the voters. Since 45 years ago, this is the only method they used to ensure that they can retain their power in Sarawak. Whatever call from the BN supreme to stop any kind of mee segera projects is just a gimmick because BN will never ever can live without it. They really don't know how to capture the heart of the voters because even they don't have any heart to know the life of the voters. To all the Batang Ai voters, what you get right now from the BN is only RM1.00 and the other RM9.00 goes into their pocket. And you will have to make use your RM 1.00 for the rest of your 5 years.

RM2 million for Longhouses in Batang Ai
By Churchill Edward

LUBOK ANTU: Some RM2 million has been approved for the upgrading of longhouses in Batang Ai, said Deputy Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Joseph Entulu Belaun.

He said each ‘bilek’ (door) of the identified longhouses would soon receive around RM300 to RM1,000 for repairing walls and roofs and kitchen extension.

He said the allocation should not be used for other purposes like drainage improvement.

“The allocations are not carrots or for the purpose of fishing for votes because development in rural areas is ongoing,” he said at ‘Program Mesra Rakyat’ at Rumah Jarop Kalang in Changkol here yesterday

“There may be some delay in disbursement because we have to follow procedures.

The money will be channelled through JKKKs (the Village Security and Development Committee) but the money is to be distributed in two to three months.”

He said there are also allocations for roads in Batang Ai. The money has been approved and the roads to be built may be those in Lemanak, Engkari and the Lubok Antu outer rink road, he said.

RM5 million to RM12 million has been approved for alignment, survey and appointment of consultants, he said adding that should there be any left over, it would be used for road maintenance.

He said the detail of the projects has not been decided yet.

The 60 to 70-km road in Lemanak and Engkari areas will benefit around 2,000 people, he said.

He said it was only a coincidence that the projects are announced when by-election is just around the corner. He explained that there were limited funds for the roads in the past because of economic recession but with the RM60 billion second stimulus package, these roads can be built.

On the coming election, Entulu, who is Parti Rakyat Sarawak deputy president, said the main contest will be between the Barisan Nasional (BN) and Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR).

He said any independent joining the fray will not make any impact.

He said he could not see how the votes for independent candidates can split the votes of either the BN or PKR.

As far as the BN is concerned, he said the coalition will fight anyone or any party head on.
